There is a great deal of information in the news regarding special needs classrooms and their methods for addressing behavior issues. From isolation chambers (click here) to restraining chairs (click here), children are being hurt and even killed (click here ).
Research indicates that positive behavior modification (PBM) can be a rewarding and useful tool when working with children who have special needs.
PCS has always offered PBM books, using personal photos and personalized text. We don’t claim to be a cure. We simply invite parents and teachers alike to use PCS books as a part of a student’s IEP (IEP explained in lay terms: click here) (IEP explained in more technical terms: click here)
Send us your photos and we’ll discuss the appropriate book theme for your child or student. Anything goes: we don’t limit theme selections. Each book is individually written and hand crafted from start to finish, addressing any and every need. PCS books are laminated and bound and can chewed on, tossed, stepped on and more – with little or no damage done.
Use your PCS book to teach, instruct and promote positive behavior and appropriate choices.
There is no need to use extreme measures. Taking the time to teach children appropriately, lovingly and patiently – WORKS.

Flashcards develop pre-readiness education for kindergarten and enhance pre-reading skills.

Face recognition:
Send photos of people you’d like your child to recognize such as him/herself, mom/dad, grandparents, siblings, pets, friends, teachers, etc.
Numbers:
Send a photo of one person, 2 people, 3 people and 4 people.
Colors:
Send photos of your child wearing red, blue, green and yellow (one color per photo).
Emotions:
Send photos of your child making various faces: frowning, laughing, smiling, surprised, etc.
Concepts:
Send photos of your child hugging, sharing, getting ready for school/church, kissing, cuddling, petting an animal, etc.
